The content for these online programs will be delivered via WebCT. The following software and hardware requirements are the recommended configurations.

Software Requirements

For best results with Windows, use:

  • Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher (Note: IE 5.5 SP1 is not supported).
  • Netscape 4.76 or 6.2.x*
  • AOL 7.0

For best results with Mac OS, use:

  • Internet Explorer 5.0 and 5.1 (OS 9.x) and 5.1 (OS10.1) (Note: IE 5.5 SP1 is not supported).
  • Netscape 4.76 and 6.2.x*
  • AOL 5.0

What is my browser's version?

Notes:

  • Netscape 6.0-6.1 and Internet Explorer 4.0 and 5.5 (with Service Pack 1 installed) are not supported in WebCT.
  • AOL users: If you are using a version earlier than AOL 7.0, you must download the full version of either Netscape or Internet Explorer. Once you've made your connection to the internet using AOL, minimize the AOL window and start the full version browser.
  • * Netscape 6.2.x may require an update Java plug-in for use with WebCT.
    1. Download and install the appropriate plug-in for the Windows or Mac OS you are using.
    2. For Windows, go to the Netscape Java Plug-in page at
      http://wp.netscape.com/plugins/get_java.html, and follow the instructions.
    3. For Mac OS, go to the MRJ Plug-in page at http://homepage.mac.com/pcbeard/MRJPlugin, and follow the instructions.

To determine browser version:

      1. Open your browser.
      2. From the browser menu bar, select Help.
      3. Select About. If there are several, choose the one about your browser. A screen will appear that shows your browser name and version.
